Q: I’d like to place a banner ad. How much control do I have over where on the website/webpage the ad appears?
A: You’re welcome to choose any spot you like. Simply contact us, and we’ll let you know if the space you’re interested in is available. In the meantime, please have a look at the Banner Ad Map and make note of your preferred locations.
Q: I’m not really sure where to place my ad. Can you help?
A: Of course! Simply contact us and we’ll help guide you to the most effective and cost-effective space that will get you the most relevant traffic and exposure based on your skill or business. We offer ad spaces to fit every budget and industry niche.
Q: I haven’t used banner ads before. Do they work?
A: Banner ads are a very effective advertising tool. Repeat exposure is a key step to building your name/brand/logo recognition. Our banner ads can link directly to your crewnewmexico.com profile page, or your external website, giving you another avenue of direct, targeted exposure.
Q: I’m interested in posting my banner ad site-wide, or in a variety of locations. How does that work?
A: That works just fine. Drop us a line and we’ll help you get all set-up.
Q: Do I get charged every time someone clicks on my ad?
A: No. You pay a flat fee regardless of how many clicks you receive.
Q: How long will my banner ad run?
A: We sell our ads in 3 and 6-month bundles. For time/date-sensitive ad campaigns (ie. movie preview, upcoming event), we do offer a 1 month ad, but charge a little extra for the service.
Q: Can I buy a one-month banner ad?
A: We offer a 1-month ad for time/date-sensitive ad campaigns (ie. movie preview, upcoming event), but charge a little extra for the service.
Q: Do you sell banner ad space by the “click” or by “cost per thousand impressions”?
A: Your ad comes with unlimited ad clicks. You’re never charged extra for any clicks.
Q: Is there any way to track my banner ad stats – like how many clicks per day or the click-thru-rate?
A: You may find qualitative and quantitative results such as increased leads and inquiries from your profile contact form, or visitors to your external website (which you can track on through your own analytics program), however we do not host banner-ad tracking statistics at this time.
Q: Can I pay for my 3-month ad in stages?
A: We require payment in full for 1 and 3-month ad terms. Six-month terms can be divided into two payments, first prior to ad launch, and the second approximately 75 days later.
Q: When will my banner ad start?
A: We begin new banner ad rotations on the 1st and the 15th of the month. Your ad will be inserted on the first insertion date following payment for your ad space.
Q: I’m really interested in one spot. Can you hold it for me?
A: Our spaces sell on a first-come first-serve, first-pay first insertion basis.
Q: I like where my banner ad is. Can I keep my ad in the same spot?
A: Yes. However, you must prepay for your next term in order to reserve the spot.
Q: Will my banner ad always show up?
A: We offer the same space to more than one advertiser (usually 2-4), but never more than 6 per space. Your ad will appear in rotation, upon refresh, with the other 5. If you’d like to keep that space all to yourself, you’re welcome to take all 6 spaces. You’re also welcome to purchase as many slots as you like (2 or 3 or 4 or 5).
Q: I might want to change my banner ad in the middle of my contract. Is that possible?
A: Appearance, yes. Location and size, unfortunately, no.
Q: I’m interested in having a banner ad made. Can you recommend anyone?
A: There are a number of New Mexico-based graphic designers to choose from. Search our “Production Support/Personal Services” category and you’ll find a pretty healthy list to choose from!
Q: I’m having trouble making my ad “web-ready,” and/or I’m not happy with the way it looks. Can you help?

We’re happy to help you touch-up, re-size or make your ad web-ready, but we charge $45/hour for the service.
Q: If my ad isn’t quite ready, would you just bill me for the extra work to make it ready?
A: If your ad isn’t right or ready, we’ll email you back and give you the details why, but we wouldn’t fix it without your consent. We’re happy to help guide you to a complete ad. We’re available to help you touch-up, re-size or make your ad web-ready, but we charge $45/hour for the service.
Q: I’m not sure how to format, shape, size, or send my banner ad.
A:
- Save your ad as a jpg or gif.
- Maximum size of any banner ad: 35kb.
- Size your ad using pixels, not inches. If your ad is to appear in a 120x90 space, make sure you size the ad to 125x90 pixels.
- Send us your ad as an attachment via email to adsales at crewnewmexico.com. We’ll review it and let you know if it still needs some work, or if its ready to go!
Q: You’ve denied my ad placement request. Why?
A: In rare circumstances, we may deny your banner ad request. This would happen for one or more of the following reasons:
- Inappropriate content
- Off-topic content
- Non-payment
- Visual or graphic defects
- Incomplete design or appearance/size issues.
- Advertisement for competing website/company.
